"Planetary Politics: A Beyond for International Relations?"
This research investigates whether the emergence of "planetary politics" frameworks constitutes a genuine metatheoretical shift in IR or a discursive renovation within existing paradigmatic structures. Drawing on Lakatos's Methodology of Scientific Research Programmes (MSRP), the thesis examines the hard core and protective belt of mainstream IR theory against planetary and relational ontologies — including Milja Kurki's Relational Cosmology framework and post-Newtonian approaches to complexity and relationality.
